We all know this is a highly controversial subject, hats off to Jagapthi Babu, to accept this role. Shanker and Chakri made colossal mistake in their carrier or they stood on their side. Let’s keep the artist alone.

01.Jai Bholo Telangana
Singers: Vandemataram Srinivas
Lyrics: Andhe Sri

“Vandematara geetham varasa maruchunnadi na swaram maruchunnadi”, Srinivas swaram on these kinds of songs is very good. But this song is almost mediocre.

Song starts with a very low pitch voice that is not really shows any depth of sorrow or anger. Srinivas voice lacks aggressive anger to provoke psychological manipulation. Highpoint of song is when he sings “69 grahanam and 360 vidyarthula balidaanam” shows a lot of emotion in his voice. Over all being a title song, couldn’t make the title.

02.Oka Puvvu Oka Navvu
Singers: Srikrishna, Adarshini
Lyrics: Nandini Siddhareddy

Starts like typical Nandini Siddhareddy batukamma song and in couple of minutes slips into melodies song like 80s songs. Very pleasant lyrics.  Nice touch is new singer’s voice (Srikrishna and Adarshini). More or less a feel good song.

03.Podustunna Poddumeeda
Singer: Gaddar
Lyrics: Gaddar

Ha oh ha, Gaddar. Telugu Bob Marley. Btw today is the great Bobs birthday. Ha oh ha, Gaddar reminds me of bandenuka bandi katti and Rayalaseema Raithanna. There is a lot to talk about this much accompished simple human being. Lets coming back to review, ha oh ha. Song starts funny and made me think “ Gaddar vadi vedi taggindi ani”.

But I am totally wrong.

To appreciate this song you need to listen and involve in the song and need to know the history. It’s not an ordinary cheesy song. In the first stanza he talks about the rising revolution (Sun), second stanza he talks about past struggle (earth), third stanza he talks about water (water), fourth stanza relationships and how they are departed (air), fifth stanza present problems and his tribute to his past, present and future comrades (fire), beauty of Gaddar is he joins the revolution with pancha bhuthalu and ha oh ha with surgeon precision. Just here the song and understand the lyrics, maa kasam you will have goose bumps.

Special thanks to Chakri he chose Gaddar to sing this song and kept his trade mark ( Dappu, Gajjelu, Rifile and Gochi) music intact. No trace of Chakri’s music influence.

04.Nijamena

Singers: Chakri, Tina Kamal
Lyrics: Suddala Ashok Teja

Chakri is all over on this song I mean it. His voice and music 200% Chakri.

05.Garadi Chestundru
Singers: Vasu
Lyrics: KCR

Vasu magic is like KCR speech. Wow can you believe KCR wrote this song!!. Just like his speech Chakri went freely to combine fast beats, Panjabi, some old style music. Manusulu vyaparam ee music vyapaaram.

06. Ee gaayam Eee gaayam
Singers: Chakri, Paavani
Lyrics: Goreti Venkanna

Very unlikely song from Goreti’s pen. Again Chakri’s contribution is 200%

This is one of the best albums from Harris (second from left) this year. Infused with hip-hop, new talent of vocals, tailor made “Armani suite like”, tuneful, relaxing music and last but not least get to hear lot of instruments. Give it a shot I am confident you will like it.

Thee Illai
Singer/s : Naresh Iyer, Mahathi, Gopal Rao.
Romantic song with nice violin and bass gripping music. Starts as a well known western music track and in couple of seconds slips into Harris style music.

Nangaai…
Singer/s : Richard, Rahul Nambiar, Naveen Madava.
It’s surprising that this track also starts and retains the smell of late the great MJ’s “am bad” song. Harris tried and succeeded in making this song attractive to Indian audience with the new voice and some nice bits of music here and there. I taste little bit of Prabhu Deva’s dance/music influence in this song. Who knows may be a tribute to MJ from two Indian masters.

Lolita…
Singer/s : Karthik, Prashanthini.
This is an awesome song from Harris. One can fulfill their appetite for lot of instruments. In a strange twist of all these music instruments Karthik rocks. Nice touch of saxophone made me feel that I need to hear this song in dark. One complains is Prashanthini’s voice would have been much smoother. Like the music.

Bathing at Cannes…
Singer/s : Emcee Jesz, Kash, Krissy, Raninia Reddy.
Aha, Harris J along with Rahman A and others is on hip-hop band wagon. Harris unleashed the dogs out ( bow bow) to make this song, don’t get me wrong this is a nice song. INTERESTINGLY and  luckily short and sweet hardly find any spice.

Nenjil Nenjil
Singer/s : Harish Raghavendra, Chinmayi.
This is a best classical pick of the album. Harris Raghavendra and Chinmayi’s voice is made for this song. You can see the stamp of “Handmade by Harris Raghavendra and Chinmayi “all over this song.

Dhimu Dhimu…
Singer/s : Karthik.
Nice background music in recent days. Supernatural (Santana style) guitar beats and bass with super acclaimed Karthiks vocals.

This is a satisfying sound track. I think that with proper choreography and scenic backgrounds album will pull through. Just to listen on stereo without some spicy heroine/background dancer”s  skin, hard to digest.

Harris picked six tunes and pretty much remained in same pool. This is the least you expect from one of the best keyboard players in industry. Listen to Engeyum Kadhal so much of variety in every song.

01.  Ola Olaala Ala
Singer(s): Karunya, Ranina Reddy
Lyrics: Surendra Krishna, Kedarnath Parimi
It will be one of the hit songs in the album. Lyrics are nice.

02.Chilipiga
Singer(s): Karthik
Lyrics: Vanamali
Tune 2 is slow and gushes very easy. Nice song and Karthik shines once again.

03.Nenu Nuvvantu
Singer(s): Naresh Iyer, Nadeesh
Lyrics: Vanamali

04. Hello Rammante
Singer(s): Vijay Prakash, Devan
Lyrics: Rama Jhogaya Sastry
Tune 4 is fast and easy hummable one. It will be one of the hit songs in the album. Lyrics are nice.

05. O Range
Singer(s): Benny Dayal
Lyrics: Vanamali
Tune 5 fast track., overall  nice vocals by Benny Dayal. Would have been nice if he can read the lyrics in Telugu. Pitch was not according to the lyrics. Ups and downs of vocals are not handled as suppose to be.

06. Rooba Rooba
Singer(s): Shail Hada, Chinma yee
Lyrics: Vanamali
Tune 6 is nice and easy listening one. Voice feels like floating pebble on the water, looks nice seldom makes any statement. Chinma Yees addition to the song is not well mixed overall.

Khaleja

Hmm Khaleja…

To sum up, this album has VARIETY.  Mani Sharma has yet succeeded again in scoring a superb album for this movie.

After Baanam album in my opinion this is his next best creation.  His music compilation reminds of A.R. Rahman, following the footsteps or drawing a parallel.  To say, the music feels Rahamanish. Music twiddles in each song.  Mani Sharma has tried and succeeded in giving a wholesome meal, I mean tasteful variety.  Easy listening, easily likable and yet not one of the off-the-shelf tunes we get to hear every other day.  Lyrics and music appears to blend well with the movie theme.

Let’s jump into review section.

Sada Siva by Ramesh Vinayagam, Karunya Lyrics Rama Jogayya Shastry

Shastri garu you have done a brilliant job.  Song begins as Shiva Shruthi and turns to Pokiri level with a hint of English. All in all
it is served like manchi avakaya pachadi.  I guess Ramesh Vinayagam was in hurry when it came down to singing the word “Kailasavasi”. One
other observation I made, he was saying sithi khantaya, hmm.. I think it was\is Sthithi Kantaya.  Felt like I was just starting to enjoy my meal and then suddenly crunched on a rice-stone just before swallowing. But all in all groove to the trance and chant sada siva.

Makatika

This song is full of flavor, like having a warm delicious curry with steaming hot rice.  Lyrics are nice, meaningless to a point, but nice. “Cheliya ni chekkili takina na velu velam vesthe veyye kotlu”, wow got some gatlu on my finger mere listening to this number. I was expecting Shravana Bharghavi in this song, but anyway.  May be then two songs for her is an overkill in this album.

Boom Shaka laka

Shatri garu went off beat to make us eat some nice Tandoori in this song.  Ranjith is very bright and Shravana Bharghavi voice is too sexy for this song. Hope this song is not on Anuska. Otherwise you may imagine bommali in micro tights singing for cute Mahesh and regular Telugu hero impudence hard to find in real life.

Piliche Pedavula

This song is from Sirivennela but more or less sounds like RJ Shastry. Nice song leads to Lord Krishna, mixed in Hindi and Telugu may I call it Kichidi?  Nope it’s more like Bisibelabath. Easy listening, likeeating savory samber rice.

Sunday Monday

After having Samber rice I started craving for something else, may be some Daddojanam. I got Sunday Monday etc everyday, all I got was mix-up of Telugu and English in this song. Hmm it is a problem, raising the bar with the first few songs in an album can sometimes do this.  Song slips through like daddojanam though, easy-peezy

Taxi.

Shasty garu was able to pull off another brilliant song, no strings attached no Bommali in mind, custom made for Mahesh-only.  The songs feels like….warm Gajar-ka-Halwa in Vanilla Gelato.  He says in the lyrics ” Veella naduma na undhi ga steering globe mothamantha sonthamina feeling”, shastry garu just google Mahesh Khaleja Taxi orvisit Soundplease.com to see our reaction.  Your TAXI reverberated around the globe.

I hope you relished the taste of my vindubhojanam. Eat it again and enjoy it.

Music by Pritam

There are eight songs in this Album. Two of them are remix of Isk se meetha song. Other one Sauda hai dil ka.
So it leaves us with five songs. Hope songs go well with cinema and picturization. Music fundamentally Pritam like.

1)      Isak Se Meetha by Kalpana Patowary & Ajay Jhingran
Kichidi of item songs, loud music, same old music and two more remix versions of the same song… Next
2)      Saude Bazi  by Javed Ali
Song starts good and as it flows loses grip, refrain of the song is good and rhythmic nothing much to say about music. Nice lyrics.
3)      Man Ki Mat  by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
Song was written for Rahat fateh Ali Khan. And   … Next
4)      Sasural Munia by Shreya Ghoshal
Pritam barrowed the same music from the previous item song. Nothing else to add.
5)      Raamkatha by Sukhwinder Singh
Pritam tries to tell same old Ramayan with Sukwindher Singh. Something old nothing new. Hope it measures up to the situation in cinema.

Music: A. R. Rahman

Singers: S.P.B, A. R  & Khatija Rahman —  Lyrics: Vairamuthu

Song: Puthiya Manidha

Welcome to my wildest imaginations. Couple of things, I heard this song in Tamil first, so a review of Tamil version is in order, let’s jump right into the review. To begin with I would like to say  “Wonderful” song, to hear and hum, twice the appeal.

Puthiya Manidha .. Wow! Wonderful to my ears. It felt like I was watching a big..no.. no.. no.. watching a huuuugeee ( if only huuuugeee makes huge huger!!!) budget Hollywood robo movie, may be the latest unreleased Transformers movie transcending me to a wonderful palpable ambience.  Subconsciously I slipped into music, completely drawn-in.  Puthiya created a space in space where I felt alive amidst male and female robo’s dancing, my hand moving to the beats of A.R while carefully holding a glass of well deserved Ethanol  + Carbonated H20. What we call Patiyala peg.

Ok now….getting back to the review of this well composed\sung song, sorry I do not understand Tamil so I rather not comment on lyrics. The album seemed as good as fresh Idli fully dipped in lip smacking made-in-Chennai samber. Hmm…m. I wish I always listen to A.R in Tamil. In this song he is doing words in robo accent unlike the regular macha sentences. One word, “Happy”.

One minute into the song came about Khatija’s (A.R’s daughter) aarangatram. Wonderful, she did her home work, nice. She lived this song. Later comes TGSPB (The Greatest S.P Bala Subramanyam). Wow! Such a privilege  writing something about the great SPB. It’s a wonderful feeling even to think.  He is like Mercedes Maybach Landaulet, always awesome.

To add, more like Maybach Landaulet not the latest Lamby (Lamborghini).  I don’t know why A.R selected him for this song? I was wishing for some other younger prodigy singer instead. I wish A. R. would answer that!  I don’t know when my last sip was up, heard a knock on the door…. and was told…dinner time!!!
